Less than a month before its opening, and with a strong turnout, the final operational and protocol coordination meeting was held with naval and defense attachés from various embassies accredited in the country, looking ahead to the opening of ExpoNaval 2026, organized by FISA, which will take place between December 1 and 3 at Espacio Riesco. During the working session, organizing teams and naval authorities addressed the primary logistical questions raised by diplomatic representatives regarding the program of activities and the deployment of foreign delegations traveling specifically to Santiago to take part in the region’s premier naval and maritime exhibition. The meeting reflected the strong interest the exhibition draws across the continent, consolidating an agenda where cooperation and technological exchange will set the tone. For the region’s armed forces, the gathering represents a top-tier opportunity both to strengthen bilateral ties and to gain firsthand insight into the innovations driving maritime operations. From the Peruvian delegation, institutional presence will take on particular prominence with the arrival of its highest authorities. Captain Jorge Luis Álvarez, Naval Attaché of Peru to Chile, highlighted the value his institution places on this edition: “We are very eager about the Peruvian Navy’s participation in this exhibition. As is well known, representatives from various Navy directorates are attending. Our Commander General of the Navy, Admiral Javier Bravo de Rueda, is also coming. Through this, we demonstrate the importance of such a significant regional event within our area of responsibility”, he stated. Meanwhile, the Mexican delegation—aiming for a participation focused on sourcing technological solutions and operational modernization—also took part in the session. “In Mexico, development is very prominent right now. Our expectations with the delegation traveling from Mexico center on finding opportunities, services, and systems that can support the operations we conduct within the Mexican Navy”, stated Rear Admiral Víctor Pasquel Meléndez, Naval Attaché of Mexico to Chile. At the close of the day, organizers reaffirmed the momentum behind the event’s setup and programming. “We are now in the home stretch for ExpoNaval 2026. The turnout and interest we saw today reflect the vital role this event plays in fostering technological exchange and strengthening cooperative ties among participating nations”, noted Rodrigo Bastidas, Executive Director of ExpoNaval.
